15 years on Australia128: Esther Bertram

Esther Bertram is a remarkable artist whose life reads like a vibrant tapestry woven from contrasts, dreams, and unbridled joy. Born under the Southern Cross in Canberra, Australia, Esther has blended the diverse cultural heritages of her parents—her mother, a Lapland priestess, and her father, a free-spirited Australian.

From a young age, she showed an immense capacity for creativity and empathy, traits that would define her path in music and beyond.

Esther’s musical journey began at the tender age of six at the Canberra School of Music. Her passion for music blossomed here, leading her to pursue further education at the Central Queensland Conservatorium and Southern Cross University, where she won the university’s composition award two years in a row.

Her quest for musical exploration took her to Europe for 14 transformative years, where she immersed herself in the music scene, performing as a solo artist, in duos, and trios, and even leading the world music ensemble Dissidenten. During this period, she also won an EMI songwriting competition in Berlin, showcasing her ability to touch hearts across language barriers.

Amidst her musical career, Esther also devoted herself to teaching, nurturing the next generation of musicians while continuing her own creative endeavors. This period of her life was marked by the creation of “November Fox – Following Joy,” a tale of a vegan empath rockstar, which she wrote from a centuries-old cottage in Sussex.

Returning to Australia, Esther took on the role of Chief Marketing Officer for Mini Maestros, further cementing her commitment to spreading musical knowledge. She also launched her publishing venture, “Conscious Fiction,” aimed at awakening young minds through storytelling.

In her continuous effort to support and empower empaths like herself, Esther developed “The 123 Theory,” a framework to help individuals manage their energy, define boundaries, and uphold wellbeing. This theory has been shared through her TikTok, her “Empath Unplugged” podcast, and in her book.

Australia128 Radio has been playing Esther Bertram’s music since 2010, recognizing her unique voice and the depth of her artistic expression. Today, she resides on a semi-tropical isle in Queensland, where she continues to inspire and raise vibrations with her music, writings, and teachings.

Esther Bertram’s journey is a testament to the power of following one’s joy and the profound impact of living authentically. Her life is a rich narrative of creativity, empathy, and the pursuit of happiness, making her a beacon for those who seek to live a life filled with purpose and passion.
